Kinship Permanency Incentive (KPI) Program KPI Requirements
  • A judge has ruled that your child was abused, neglected or dependent.
  • A judge awarded legal custody of the child to you after July 1, 2005.
  • Your income is not higher than 200 percent of federal poverty guidelines.
  • To receive cash payments, eligible families must apply through their county public children services agency and complete a family home assessment.
  • KPI payments are in addition to Ohio Works First (OWF) cash assistance received for the child.

Some kinship families will not be eligible for this program. However, it is important to find out what resources are available to your family.
