MEDICAID
Medicaid provides medical insurance coverage to low income people. It provides health coverage to children, families, and elderly, blind, or disabled adults.
Health care services covered under Ohio's Medical program include:
- Most inpatient and outpatient hospital services
- Most services of doctors, dentist, optometrists, podiatrists, and other licensed specialist
- Certain prescription drugs
- Eyeglasses, hearing aids, dentures
- Immunizations, well-child visits
- Care in a nursing facility
- Mental health, alcohol, and drug addiction services
Healthy Families
Provides coverage to the entire family and is available to families whose income is at or below 90% of the Federal Poverty Guideline.
Healthy Start
Provides coverage to children and pregnant women. Healthy Start covers children from birth through 18, in families with incomes at or below 150% - 200% of the Federal Poverty Guideline.

- AG Size - How many people in the family.
- 90% -Covered Families = Adults and Children.
- 150% - Children and Pregnant Women.
- 200% - Pregnant Women, Children with no Creditable Insurance. (Insurance that covers Doctor and Hospital.)
Spend Down Program
Under this program, if the person has on going and/or extensive bills, they may pay a portion of the bills up to the amount that they exceed the income limit and Medicaid will pay the rest.
Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB) and Specified Low-Income Medicare Beneficiary Program (SLMB)
These two medical programs can help older adults with there medical cost by providing supplements to Medicare. In certain instances it can help cover the cost of some premiums, deductibles, and co-insurance cost.
